Debt Ceiling: Lost Sales if Rates Rise
NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun in a four-minute video with REALTOR® Magazine says home sales could decline by up to 450,000 units if mortgage interest rates rise by one percentage point as a result of investor concerns over a breached federal debt ceiling. Yun says the government will face tough choices on whether to cut spending or allow interest rate payments to lapse should no solution be worked out. Access and link to the video.
Senators Urge FHFA Not to Change Loan Limits

Last week, 13 senators also sent a letter objecting to the lowering of loan limits.
